last weekend i pulled out my old Seagull and made another attempt at TtV or through-the-viewfinder photography. the outcome on a seagull is not as great as doing it with perhaps a Kodak Duoflex, because the viewing lens on the latter is far larger. with the seagull, the images are darker around the edges and then gets too bright in the center. it gets even worse when i use a chimney kind of contraption to keep out the glare. so instead i just wear a wide-brimmed sun hat to get the camera under the shade, and that kinda balances out the exposure in the viewfinder and outside the camera, thus reducing the very bright spot in the middle.

It’s usually hard for me to resist stopping by Bizu pastry shop whenever I see it, because I just have to get some french macarons. Given that I try to always cut down on sugar, I only limit myself to three pieces (and they’re not cheap too). My favorite would be raspberry, butterscotch, and lemon, consumed in that order. If only I got to know these delightful desserts earlier than my trip to Paris, then a stopover at Pierre Hermé’s would have been part of my itenerary.

Two generations. New and old.

The new month has just Marched in. Pardon the pun. We’re almost through the 1st quarter of the year and the tropical summer season is already starting. I can feel it in the weather. I can feel it as the sun touches my face in the morning. Time to hit the beach but I haven’t had the wisdom to trim down to a beach bod. Oh well.

My last entry to the MirrorProject group (now on Flickr). I should get a few more soon. I actually do love this concept. It isn’t plain vanilla cam-whoring. Well, some entries make it look that way. But a good number are truly creative.
